Rainbow moonstone is a beautiful gemstone with magical glints of blue in some of the stones when viewed at a certain angle. It's actually a form of Labradorite which goes a long way in explaining why I didn't manage to capture any hints of blue whatsoever since Labradorite hates me and hides its beauty whenever I point a camera in its direction. Strangely relatable.
Anyway... this miniature tree has been twysted together with ivory coloured copper wire, and is encased in a glass dome with a cork base which has been painted with silver coloured acrylic paint and a pearlescent paint on top (Unicorn Milk by Stuart Semple).
Dome sits approximately 47mm in height (between 1.75 and 2 inches)
Miniature rainbow moonstone gemstone wire tree
Size: Height 47mm x 25mm
Materials: Rainbow moonstone gemstone chips, tarnish resistant ivory coloured copper wire, glass dome with a cork base, acrylic paint
Care instructions: Your tree has some degree of flexibility so you may want to adjust the position of some of the leaves. This is fine to do as long as you don't overly stress the wire, otherwise it will weaken and may snap. The wire I use has been enamel coated to prevent tarnishing. Dust can be removed with a paintbrush or similar.
Some gemstones can fade if exposed to direct sunlight for long periods of time so please be aware of this when choosing a place to display your tree.
Lastly, please be aware due to the nature of the material, although I make every attempt to minimise this, the roots may have some sharp edges. Caution is advised if placing on surfaces that are easily scratched. For ornamental use only.
