One of my older wire tree sculptures, that has been mounted to a piece of slate with the use of 2 part epoxy clay which has been textured and painted with greens and highlighted with copper paint to create a moss effect.
The tree itself is in the style of a pine tree, in green and amber coloured seed beads, and a scattering of dark bronze coloured bobble beads to give a pine cone effect, twysted together with a mix of brown and black coloured copper wire, wrapped round a copper wire core.
Sits approximately 120mm / 4.75 inches in height. The slate base is 150mm / 6 inches at the widest point.
Pocket Sized Pine - wire tree sculpture on slate
Size: Height 120mm x Width 150mm / 4.25 x 6 inches
Materials: Glass seed beads, acylic bobble beads, black and mid brown coloured tarnish resistant copper wire, 2 part epoxy clay, acrylic paint, natural slate, matte varnish
Care instructions: For ornamental use only. Copper wire is soft and can be bent easily - branches can be adjusted but bending back and forth repeatedly can cause the wire to weaken and it may snap.
