Sugar and Spice

Something in citrine since it's one of the birthstones for November, plus I have several citrine bases at the moment that I've been itching to use.

This particular base has a lot of earthy tones so an autumnal tree was a good match for it. Using a mix of brown, copper, and amber coloured seed beads, with citrine gemstone chips throughout and twysted together with antique copper and gilt copper wire.

The name came about because I couldn't help but think of rock and caramelised sugar when making it - I have been watching GBBO on catch up though so I'm blaming that.

Sits approximately 11.5 cms / 4.5 inches in height (including base)

Sugar and Spice

  • Size: Height x Width 11.5 cms x 11 cms / 4.5 x 4.25 inches

Materials:  Glass seed beads, citrine gemstone chips, antique copper and gilt (silver plated and coloured) tarnish resistant copper wire, citrine crystal base, adhesive.

Care instructions: For ornamental use only. Copper wire is soft and can be bent easily - branches can be adjusted but bending back and forth repeatedly can cause the wire to weaken and it may snap.

It is advisable to display this tree sculpture out of direct sunlight as this can cause colour fade in some gemstones.
