Finding Peace Where You Are; bead and wire tree sculpture
The third of three trees inspired by and mounted on a gorgeous peacock ore base, a current fixation after finding a stash of them hidden in plain sight.
The custom bead mix for this one is different from the other two but still very much in theme with the peacock ore base that was used here. I created a mix rich in deep purple, with a scattering of deep pink, blue, dark gold and copper to match the original base I was going to go with .... then changed my mind and found a larger base that complemented the shape and size of the tree better.
The tree itself has a curved trunk as if bowing towards the ground, branches following in the same direction. The tree canopy is made up with tightly packed beaded clusters, making this a compact and full looking tree. Its spiralled roots are shaped around the top of the base with the antique bronze and hint of bright violet coloured copper wire looking perfectly in place with the deep pink and purple of the peacock ore.
This is a fairly heavy sculpture for its size, weighing 635 grams
Sits at 16cms / 6.3 inches in height (including base)
Finding Peace Where You Are
Size: Height 16cms x Width 10cms / 6.3 x 4 inches (including base)
Materials: Glass seed beads, 0.5mm antique bronze and bright violet coloured tarnish resistant copper wire, peacock ore base, adhesive
Care instructions: For ornamental use only. Copper wire is soft and can be bent easily - branches can be adjusted but bending back and forth repeatedly can cause the wire to weaken and it may snap.
