Multitudes; bead and wire tree sculpture
I wanted to create something colourful and here it is! The name was inspired by one of my favourite movies, The Life of Chuck and one of the quotes "I contain multitudes" from the Walt Whitman poem "Song of Myself". I didn't realise at the time the movie is based on a Stephen King book which I've not had the pleasure of reading yet, but the movie was one I fell in love with. But I digress. Made with black coloured copper wire and an array of various colours in sections, this statement of a tree is mounted to a round slate disc and decorated with carefully placed tufts of static grass around the spiralled roots to give a sense of realism to an otherwise fantastical tree.
Size: Tree height (inc base) 19 cms x Width 23 cms / 7.5 inches x 9 inches
Materials: Black tarnish resistant 0.5mm copper wire, glass seed beads, static grass, acrylic paint, matte varnish, adhesive
Care instructions: For ornamental use only. Copper wire is soft and can be bent easily - branches can be adjusted but bending back and forth repeatedly can cause the wire to weaken and it may snap.
Dust can be removed with a soft paintbrush, keeping a finger under each section as you brush the beads to minimise movement.
